WAMP Notes

Install WAMP:

If ICON is yellow, means not all services running:

Check no other applications using PORT 80 ie Skype, in SKYPEs case TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> ADVANCED -> CONNECTION -> Unselect 'Use Port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections..

Mod Rewrite on:

Start Apache, then WAMP icon -> APache -> Services -> Rewrite Module

If IIS is running on same port:

Theory, you can have both, but IIS and Apache/Wamp are both web server and might conflict in some way, so you have to disable IIS in order for Wamp to work

Disable IIS in Vista:

Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, Turn Widows Features On or Off, uncheck Internet Information Services

Disable IIS in XP:

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, uncheck Internet Information Services (IIS)

Restart computer, then restart Wamp
